Welcome to the Foreign Language in Elementary Schools (FLES) website!

FLES is an exciting language and culture program providing quality language instruction before and after school for children in Kindergarten - 6th grade. We are a part of MCCPTA-EPI, a non-profit organization partnering with school communities to bring foreign language to elementary and middle schools in Montgomery County , Maryland since 1975. Our classes are coordinated through Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) in cooperation with the public schools.

We have 35 years of experience in our field, we offer Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and French classes right at your school and our classes are lively, fun and educational!

Come join us this fall! Our 2010-2011season begins in October. Registration for classes starts the first week in September and is handled by your school’s PTA. To find out what classes are available for your K- 6th grade child, please contact your PTA FLES Coordinator. Let your child experience the adventure of learning another language!

This spring we celebrated another wonderful year of FLES with traditional breakfasts in the classroom. Many thanks to our teachers for sharing favorite morning fare from around the world – croissants and chocolat chaud, panecillos and café con leche and man tou with dou jiang! Congratulations to our 4th, 5th and 6th grade Spanish and French students who were recognized by the Embassies of Spain and France and the Centro Español for their outstanding written essays and their participation in extracurricular FLES classes! Looking forward to seeing everyone back in FLES classes this fall!
