the school's ICB liaison, assure suitable classroom availability, keeping the ICB
liaison and FLES office abreast of any changes on class schedule throughout the year;
Collect student
tuition payments; and send to the FLES Office with a completed participant
list for each class;
Obtain from the
school PTA treasurer payment for the school’s FLES program, and forward
it to the FLES office;
Distribute confirmation
letter to parents;
If you have afternoon
classes, consult with the principal and the FLES teacher whether or not to
hold classes on half-days, and let the students and parents know the outcome
of this decision;
Introduce the
FLES teacher to key school staff, such as: the secretary, building services
manager and principal;
Orient the FLES
teacher to the school’s policies regarding use of the school copy machine,
laminator, parking lot, etc.;
Periodically inform
the school community via your PTA newsletter about the progress of FLES classes;
Help the FLES
teacher prepare for FLES activities (open houses, breakfasts, and end-of-the-year
celebrations); and
Maintain lines
of communication with the FLES teacher, program participants and FLES office.
